Here’s a great set of Christmas lights flashing synchronized to Wizard in Winter by Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) from their The Lost Christmas Eve album.  The display is provided by Carson Williams from Mason, Ohio who decorated his house with this sophisticated spectacular each Christmas until last year when traffic congestion became too much of a problem for his neighborhood and it was discontinued.  Williams broadcast the audio over FM frequency so cars could listen without him having to blast music and upset the neighbors.  You can also check out this great video clip of his display performing Jingle Bells.

While shopping for Christmas presents for my nephews, I stumbled across a collection of action figures for sale at Toys R Us.  The figures are the Historical Talking Action Figures and include U.S. Presidents and statesmen.  Your kids can have fun pitting “The Great Communicator,” Ronald Reagan, against “The Great Emancipator,” Abraham Lincoln, in a fight to the bloody death.  Don’t let your kid be the last on the block to experience the company of Thomas Jefferson and Ulysses S. Grant.  The site, ToyPresident.com, has a large collection of presidential figures, statesmen, first ladies, and religious icons.  With the full collection, you can put Bill and Hillary Clinton in a room with JFK and Jackie O and just let the adulterous hijinks begin.  Hold an ugly contest between Winston Churchill and Woodrow Wilson with an unexpected, come from behind victory by Dwight Eisenhower.  The possibilities are endless.

Web SitesFun

Years ago, I used to be swamped with forward-along emails of all kinds: jokes, cartoons, pictures, stories, or whatever.  Now I only have to battle back the constant barrage of spam.  However, I do miss some of the cool shockwave flash or executable file animated gags that I used to see.  Holiday Snowglobe reminds me a lot of those emails.  It’s a simple site that contains a snow globe that you can shake up and watch the ensuing results.  As simple as it is, I’m embarrassed to admit that I found it mildly addicting.  Inside the snow globe is a family of tiny snow globe people who try to go about their day snow boarding, ice skating, making snowmen, etc. but succumb to frequest and unexpected shakes that leave them screaming out for help and cursing the “damn earthquake!” Just in time for Christmas.
